Forget My Car
A privacy-first offline iOS utility for finding parked cars indoors
The Challenge: Every parking app on the market assumes your phone has a clear view of the sky. But the moment a driver enters an underground garage, a sprawling mall, or an airport parking structure, GPS fails—and so do these apps. Furthermore, existing solutions often force users through tedious onboarding, demand account creation, push auto-renewing subscriptions, and harvest location data to sell to third-party ad networks. Drivers needed a fast, reliable, and completely private way to simply remember where they parked. What We Did: We designed and developed Forget My Car from the ground up as a native iOS application. Instead of relying on fragile satellite connections, we built the app around the only reliable indoor workflow: snapping a photo and jotting down a floor or zone note. We engineered it to be lightning-fast (the entire logging process takes under 5 seconds) and deeply integrated with iOS by utilizing Live Activities. This means the user's parking note, floor, and a live countdown timer for paid parking stay pinned right to their Lock Screen and Dynamic Island—requiring zero app-reopening. To ensure absolute privacy, we architected the app to be 100% offline. It has no backend server, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs. To reach a global audience, we completely hand-translated the interface into 7 languages, including a fully custom Right-to-Left (RTL) layout for Arabic. The Outcome: We successfully launched a highly polished, zero-clutter utility app on the App Store that solves a very specific, universal problem elegantly. With a transparent, one-time $1.99 purchase model, Forget My Car stands as a testament to our ability to build user-centric, privacy-first digital products that respect the user's time and data, while functioning flawlessly in environments where traditional tech falls short.
