Gulf Sticker Swap: Building a Free, Mobile-First Swap Platform for Collectors Across the GCC

Every few years, the same ritual returns: tear open a pack, peel a sticker, slot it into the album — and immediately wonder who nearby might have the one you’re still missing.
For collectors across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman, that question rarely had a good answer. Global swap sites exist, but they feel dated, desktop-heavy, and disconnected from the Gulf. WhatsApp groups work until they don’t — messages scroll past, duplicates pile up, and there’s no real way to know who to trust before meeting in person.
At Fipera, we saw an opportunity to build something better: a purpose-built, mobile-first community tool designed for how people in the region actually collect and trade.
That’s how Gulf Sticker Swap was born.
The problem we set out to solve
Sticker collecting is social by nature. You don’t need a marketplace — you need a match.
The friction wasn’t lack of enthusiasm. It was lack of infrastructure:
No regional focus. Existing tools weren’t built for Gulf cities, Gulf time zones, or meet-ups rather than shipping.
No trust layer. Before swapping face-to-face, collectors had no shared record of completed trades.
Too much manual work. Listing hundreds of duplicates in a group chat is exhausting; finding the one person who has your missing sticker is worse.
Mobile reality. Most collectors browse on their phone between errands, at the café, or during halftime — not at a desktop.
We wanted a platform that felt as natural as opening your album, but as smart as a well-run collectors’ club.
